Dr. Schell Authors a Chapter on Sleep Medicine in Reference Text for Primary Care Physicians
I am proud to announce I was asked to author a chapter in Essentials of Sleep Medicine for the Primary Care Provider. The chapter is titled Avoiding and Managing Oral Appliance Therapy Side Effects.
Dr. Schell Celebrates 7 Years!
As I wrap up 7 years of service on the board of directors I look back with pride over how far we have come in this blossoming field. It is now appropriate to allow new people to help lead the organization into its future. It’s been challenging and enjoyable and I am eager to explore new directions!

AADSM 26th Annual Meeting
Dr. Schell is honored to have been chosen as the co-chair of the experts panel consensus conference to evaluate side effects of Oral appliance therapy. Having never been formally discussed or looked at makes this the most attractive topic ever presented at an annual meeting to date.
Dr. Schell, DMD is on the AADSM Board of Directors and an adjunctive faculty member at the Medical School at Dartmouth. He has been involved in a National Institute of Health study investigating Oral Appliance compliance and effects. He was also co-chair of the experts panel consensus conference investigating the side effects of oral appliance therapy held in Chicago this last November.
The conference will be held Friday, June 2 – Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place in Boston, Massachusetts.

Join Dr. Noble for the Woodstock VT Covered Bridges Half Marathon celebrating 25 years! The race benefits wonderful charities in the Upper Valley Area such as David’s House, TeamAlzheimers, The Family Place, Upper Valley Haven, WISE to end domestic violence and more. The race is a scenic 13.1 miles long with a fabulous pasta dinner to follow.
Race Start- 8:15 a.m. Suicide Six Ski Area, Pomfret VT June 5, 2016.

Our office, through a collaborative project with Creare, Inc. and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, has recently received research funding from the National Institutes of Health. This exciting and innovative research will lead to the development of state of the art technology to measure compliance and effect of oral appliances in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, particularly for those in the transportation industry.
Dr. Noble attended an advanced continuing education course sponsored by Invisalign focusing on treatment for complex orthodontic cases.
Several staff members and their families had a great time hosting the Listen Community Dinner on November 8th. The new facility is fantastic and we urge you to stop by and visit this community resource.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Schell has been selected as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Schell attended the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics & International Society of Maxillofacial Rehabilitation annual meeting in New Mexico. This education focuses on prosthetic restoration for people with facial anomalies such as cleft lips or palates and disfigured or missing ears, noses, or eyes. This need is either congenital or due to accidents or necessary surgery. The prosthetics are usually made of very life-like silicone, custom made and colored, and attached with implants or magnets.

After a lengthy process requiring both examination and demonstrated clinical requirements, Dr. Schell has passed his board review and is now a Diplomat of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. There are approximately 200 ABDSM Diplomats worldwide.

Dr. Noble has been approved by the State of NH to provide oral sedation dentistry. This allows anxious and fearful patients to obtain necessary dental care in a relaxed and safe environment. Sedation dentistry is also recommend for patients with a severe gagging reflex or those resistant to local anethetic. More treatment can be accomplished in one visit which makes this ideal for people in need of extensive treatment or under time constraints.
